A gunman killed at least 12 at Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, California on Wednesday evening, November 7.

The suspect opened fire at people who were attending an event for college students at the bar. About 100 people were at the venue when the incident happened.

Sgt. Ron Helus of the Ventura County Sheriff was among the dead. The gunman was already dead when the police arrived on the scene and it was not clear whether the gunman took his own life.

Around a dozen were injured as well.
