US: Massive Camp Fire Burning 5000 Acres in CA 6

A fast-growing wildfire forced residents from their homes in northern California on Thursday morning.

The campfire has scorched some 5,000 acres in Butte County, which is about 90 miles north of Sacramento.

The evacuation order was issued for areas of Paradise, a town of about 27,000 people. Firefighters are working to access the area and that the blaze continues to spread.

The National Weather Service issued red flag warnings for fire dangers in many areas of the state, saying low humidity and strong winds were expected to continue through Friday evening.

Dozens of resources were being called in from throughout the state to help stop the spread of the blaze.
